Bangladesh population now 14. 23 lakh 19 thousand




Country’s population now stands at 14.23 Croce 19 thousand by official count conducted during the latest census. The Fifth Population and Household Census report was published Saturday, showing the country’s population size at 14, 231, 9000. Of the total population, 7 Croce 12 lakh 55 thousand are male and 7 Croce 10 lakh 64 thousand female. The census report shows the man-woman ratio as 103.3:100. That means there are 100.3 men against 100 women. The population growth is 1.34 percent and the density of population is 964 per square kilometer. Planning Minister AK Khandker at press conference at the NEC auditorium here presented the census report on the updated demographic data, wherein reporters pointed out some reported flaws. The planning minister admitted to some "5 percent errors" in the headcount mandated to have been done by enumerators through home visits. A number of journalists even said they didn't see anyone visit their city residences during the head-and-household-count drive. Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) published the preliminary report on the country's 5th Population and Household Census 2011.Prime Minister’s finance adviser Dr Masher Brahman, BBS secretary Rita Ibrahim and director-general of BBS Saharan Mullah were also present.
