

Home Minister Advocate Sahara Khatun Tuesday said Monday’s Aminbazar killings of students would be investigated to reveal the mystery behind the midnight mayhem.
The present government does not support people taking the law into their own hands. Investigation is on. The government is looking into the matter with importance, said Sahara. The minister was talking to journalists after inaugurating a three-day programmer under Police Reform Programmer at Rupiahs Bangle Hotel in the city. She also assured that necessary steps would be taken after investigation into the incident of killing six students.
Inspector- General of Police Has an Mahmud Khaddar said, Aminbazar is a crime-infested area where law and order deteriorates sometimes. But, the fact can be revealed through proper investigation. Replying to a query over the role of police during the incident, he said police were still not clear about the situation at the time of mob attack. The police boss termed the incident regrettable, unwanted and unlawful. Six youths, all students of Dhaka’s different educational institutions, were killed on the night of holy Shab-e-barat in Armin Bazaar area by a violent mob of local people who mistook the boys for bandits in a frenzy of wrath.
