HSC results published: 75.08 pass, 39,759 get GPA-5



The results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations were published Wednesday with an overall pass percentage of 75.08, which is 0.8 percent higher than last year's. This year’s results also witnessed a leap of GPA-5 scorers, with a total of 39,759 students achieving the highest grade, according to the Education Ministry. Last year, the number of GPA-5 scorers was 28,671. Among the country's 10 education boards, Rajshahi Board topped the list in pass percentage, showing 79.01 percent success. A total of 5, 588 students got GPA-5 distinctions. In Dhaka Board, 76.89 percent students passed. The total number of GPA –5s is 17, 786. Rajuk Uttar Model College clinched the first position. In Camilla Board, the pass percentage is 68.68. Some 1389 students got GPA-5. Feni Girls College emerged as the top scorer. In Dinajpur Board, some 66.18 percent students passed and 2260 students obtained GPA-5. In Sylhet Board, the pass percentage is 75. 68. A total of 887 students got GPA-5.In Barisal Board, some 71.12 percent student passed and 1310 obtained GPA-5.In Jessore Board, the pass percentage is 63.37. A total of 3, 370 students got GPA-5. In Chittagong Board, Some 71.03 percent students passed. The total number of GPA –5 holders is 1795. Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid formally handed over the results of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday morning. This year, a total of 779,441 candidates sat for the HSC examinations under 10 education boards, including Vocational and Madrasa boards. Of the total candidates, 421,764 were male and 335,773 female.
