Mourning at all end institutions today



All educational institutions across the country will mourn today the 43 school students who were killed in a road accident at Misread in Chittagong on Monday. Meanwhile, the education ministry has directed the teachers, students, officials and staff of the institutions to wear black badges and pray for the eternal peace of the children, a senior official of the ministry said. Forty-one schoolchildren and two college students were killed after a truck in which they were returning home from a football match fell into a roadside ditch in Mirsarai Upazila on Monday. They were aged between 10 and 18. Meanwhile, Caber Odin Niamey, chairman of Mayan i union perished under Mirsarai Upazila on Monday night filed a case with Mirsarai Thana against Moniz Odin, the helper of the truck, who was on the steering when the mishap took place. But the police could not detain Mafia as yet though the accident took place on Monday afternoon. Officer-in-charge of Mirsarai Police Station Iftekhar Hassan told reporters that Moritz's house in Mad ham Mayans village was searched immediately after the incident but neither he or his family could be traced anywhere. Survivors Em ran, Nizamuddin and Bormann told reporters that driver Mafia was speaking on a mobile phone driving very rush despite repeated protests from the students. The OC said the police have no pictures of Moritz's. "We informed other police stations about him but could not send them any picture," he added.Nurul Absar, a neighbour of Moritz's at the Mother Bari area of Mayans village, told reporters that Moritz's was a driver's assistant. He drives the truck sometimes but have no licensee. The accident took place near Mayans Bridge in the Upazila, 65 kilometers from the port city of Chittagong. The students were mostly from Abu Torah Bohumukhi High School and Abu Torah Government Primary School and Abu Torah Frazil Madras a. Abu Torah Government Primary School had a football match with Mortgagor Anjumanunnesa Government Primary School on the day. The school authorities had hired the truck for transporting the supporters of the football match. However, the grief stricken people in Mirsarai Upazila of Chittagong gathered at Abu Torah Bohumukhi High School premises Tuesday morning to mourn the death of 43 students in Monday's road crash. Wearing black badges, the victims' families, students, teachers and locals thronged the school premises where a rally was organized as part of the three-day mourning programmer announced by the local administration. Education Minister Neural Islam Nadu and Industries Minister Dial up Nauru reached the premises to console the grief stricken people. A heartbreaking scene was created when the two ministers reached the premises around 11:50 am yesterday. People everywhere in the Upazila were also seen wearing black badges. The three-day programmer includes hoisting of black flags at all educational institutions in the Upazila, wearing of black badges and organizing a Milled Manful.
